April 4: Loveland ReStore Chamber Business After Hours Art Event

The Loveland Habitat for Humanity ReStore is hosting the Loveland Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours, Thursday, April 4, from 5:30 to 7 pm. The event is open to Chamber Members  and the evening promises to be one with flair, as those in attendance will be treated to a live art show featuring four of Loveland’s top artists. The artists will be creating their pieces – one woodworking, one textile, one mixed medium and one metal – from items they gathered at the ReStore, exemplifying that recycling is truly a work of art! The creations will then be auctioned off at the end of the evening to raise proceeds for Loveland Habitat for Humanity.

Textile artist Abbie Powers, whose work has been featured nationally, noted this type of partnership – local artists and a non-profit thrift store – is a perfect fit in today’s green-conscious world. She and fellow artists, Matt Kaufman, Ryan Schlaefer and Olivia Lowe, have been planning their creations for some time and promise the pieces will be unique, exciting and have broad appeal. The evening will also feature a repurposing activity for all to participant in and to take home.

The Loveland Habitat for Humanity ReStore features items for sale from cars to clothes, furniture to dishes. Proceeds from sales stay in Loveland to build homes for qualifying Loveland families. The ReStore is located at 5250 N. Garfield.
