Cheshire Cat – scarf number 11
Here is scarf number 11. It reminds me of the Cheshire Cat – only in that it’s striped and has grey bits in it. The Cheshire Cat was more pink and purple and quite a bit creepy and fat. This scarf is not creepy. It is warm and snuggly and just the right weight. It’s long and skinny and wrap-y and wonderful! The yarns used: handspun grey alpaca for the warp and hand-painted for the weft (hence the stripped pattern). This one was fun to make and I am pleased with how it turned out.
Setting up the warp yarns on my new 8 dpi reed for my little loom (8 dpi= 8 dents per inch= 8 individual yarns per inch). And the weft loaded on the shuttle made from a paint stir stick (brilliant idea Annie!).
And here is the kitchen table modeling the scarf. Or is the scarf napping in the sunlight? And finally, the scarf in action! (This scarf measures about 3.75 inches x 67 inches.) Thanks for reading and happy Monday!
